Lower navel piercings are best suited for those who don't have the anatomy for an "upper" navel. These piercings are performed with a curved barbell and need to be longer initially, to accommodate swelling. The larger bottom ball or gem tends to sit inside the navel itself and have a small bead or disk on the bottom. Please note: We will not pierce navels that do not have appropriate anatomy to accommodate jewelry. This has nothing to do with weight, and moreso how the navel itself is shaped. We understand this can be a sensitive topic and take the utmost care to be mindful of the language used to describe anatomy while performing a consultation. Healing typically takes 12+ months to fully heal, and healing can vary from person to person. ❤ No submerging the piercings in bodies of water for at least 3 months after the piercing. ❤ Please do not sleep on your piercing for at least half the healing time to lessen the risk of migration & irritation (using a travel pillow while sleeping can help lessen this risk!) ❤ We suggest avoiding high-waisted pants, and being mindful not to catch or snag the jewelry while it is healing ❤ Checkups and downsizing extra room on your jewelry is highly recommended around 6 - 8 weeks to minimize the likelihood of irritation and/or rejection. ❤ Checkups on piercings performed by our studio are always free! ❤ Downsizing the extra room on the jewelry is HIGHLY recommended, around 6 - 8 weeks. The cost of this varies depending on the piece chosen, but starts at around $20 for a shorter curved barbell shaft. - See your aftercare brochure for a discount on your first downsize! ❤ There is no service fee for downsizing the length when purchasing jewelry. We use only APP Verified implant grade titanium, niobium, and/or solid 14k gold jewelry that comes with a lifetime warranty on manufacturing. (Loss is not covered) PLEASE NOTE: The listed service price does NOT include jewelry. Basic titanium jewelry for this piercing starts at $70 per piece & goes up from there.
