Lower lip piercings can be performed in a variety of placements. Please be mindful of which kind you select when booking. These lip piercings are typically performed with a straight post with a flatback or a curved barbell, (depending on the type of piercing) and need to be significantly longer initially, to accommodate swelling. These piercings tend to swell a lot. Please note: The risk of oral damage such as tooth chipping, gum erosion is lessened by shortening the length of the jewelry so it sits snugly in the mouth once swelling has subsided. We will not pierce any lip piercings that go inside the mouth if you have braces. Healing typically takes 6 - 8+ months to fully heal, and healing can vary from person to person. ❤ No submerging the piercings in bodies of water for at least 3 months after the piercing. ❤ Please do not sleep on your piercing for at least half the healing time to lessen the risk of migration & irritation (using a travel pillow while sleeping can help lessen this risk!) ❤ We suggest avoiding alcohol/spicy/sour food for the first 2 weeks to lessen swelling & bleeding ❤ Avoid oral or sexual contact on the piercing for the first 2-3 months (If it hurts, don't do it!) ❤ Checkups on piercings performed by our studio are always free! ❤ Downsizing the extra room on the jewelry is HIGHLY recommended, around 4 - 6 weeks. ❤ The cost of downsizing is free, with the purchase of jewelry ($20 per post, depending on the jewelry chosen) - see your aftercare brochure for a discount on your first downsize! We use only APP Verified implant grade titanium, niobium, and/or solid 14k gold jewelry that comes with a lifetime warranty on manufacturing. Basic titanium jewelry for lip piercings varies depending on the piercing, which starts at $50-60 per piece & goes up from there.
